Southern Downs Angus Bull Sale
LOT 1 (QNJM10)
A son of SAV Thunderbird and out of a very good Wattletop cow. I have used Thunderbird for a few years now and this will be my last bull to sell. They are born easily but then grow like crazy. M10 would be well suited to use on heifers. He is an attractive bull with a moderate but thick frame.
LOT 2 (QMUM6)
Excellent structurally and phenotype. An easy doing sire prospect with positive fat, excellent growth, fertility and carcass. There is nothing not to like about this exceptional young sire who will have a very positive influence in any herd with any target market. 24months of age at sale.
LOT 3 (QMUM8)
One of the standouts when viewed as a yearling when his 3/4 bother selling for $30,000 to prominent Victorian studs and is now an international AI sire in high demand. Sired by USA sire G A R Prophet, M8 has exceptional EBV’s with all growth EBV’s in the top 1% along with all Indexes. There are no EBV’s not to admire and with the benefit of positive fat, fertility, maternal and carcass traits at close to perfect levels, this is a Sire which will have a massive positive influence on any herd with any target market. Highly recommended. 24 months of age at sale date.
LOT 4 (QNJM25)
A GAR Prophet son and out of a very good 16 yr old cow that was selected as a donor in the Wattletop programme. He has lots of length and is deep through the chest. M25 would be suitable for heifers. My first Prophet heifers calved last year and did a super job on their calves and went back in calf on the first AI. I would recommend M25 if you are looking to retain heifers.
LOT 5 (QMUM2)
Another of the top picks of the 2016 drop and 3/4 brother to M13 who sold for $30,000 to Victorian Studs. Sired by USA sire, G A R Prophet, out of Dam with most of the best Australian genetics from TeMania. If genetic perfection is desirable, including excellent structure and phenotype, Indexes in the top 1%, 13 EBV’s in the top 20% including growth in the top 10%, M2 should be seriously considered. He has an excellent docile temperament, is easy doing with positive fat, is suitable for heifers and powerful enough for cows. There is nothing not to get excited about with this young Sire who will offer generational improvement to any herd with any target market. Highly Recommended. 24 months at sale date.
LOT 6 (QMUM16)
Big, thick, deep bodied and impressive best describes M16. sired by SAV Thunderbird out of Hazeldean Dam. Low birthweight and explosive growth. Perfect for weaner production.
LOT 7 (QNJM13)
Meet “Bruiser”, nuts, butts and guts. He got the name soon after birth as he looked like a bull at birth. I could not recommend him for heifers but if you want thick fast growing calves at weaning that go on and perform in the feedlot then Bruiser is the boy for you. He is out of a very fertile easy calving cow.
LOT 8 (QMUM36)
Sired by the impressive Clunes Crossing G6 who served as the primary back up sire for 4 years thanks to his exceptional performance and quality progeny which have topped previous sales, M36 is an impressive young sire with excellent growth, fertility, carcass and has Indexes figures in the top 20% of the breed. LOT 17 (QNJN3)
This is a heifer’s first calf by Black Pearl, his weaning weight was 373kg at the beginning of March so expect plenty of early performance from his offspring. He has moderate birth weight and good calving ease figures so would be suitable for heifers. His selection index’s are well above average and he comes from a very fertile female line.

Another Renown and shows that Renown thickness and easy doing, moderate birth weight and good growth figures.
